Kristi and I are about to play tonight at the Seeker's Coffeehouse near Cleveland, OH tonight. We have 3 more shows until we head home to Virginia. We are very excited. We play in Columbus, OH tomorrow night and then back here in Cleveland Sunday morning. Spent the day here staying with some new friends in Ohio and doing laundry and checking emails etc....it's been a good day and we've gotten alot done and we are about to head over to the venue for soundcheck for tonight. Thanks for the prayers everybody! Will post some more pictures soon from the tour and we want to remind everybody that we have a local concert one week from tonight at matoaca middle school in Central Virginia. 7PM is the start time. Please come out and bring your friends!

Wednesday, May 7th

Hi everybody. Kristi and I are now in Minnesota on our way tomorrow to Ohio to play Friday night. One more weekend on tour and then we are done for this one. We are tired and ready to be home, but have had a great tour. We had Papa Murphy's Pizza last night(it's a midwest thing) and hung out with some family in St. Paul. Today we're getting things ready to leave tomorrow. It's beautiful here...upper 60's and sunny. We went to Mall of America two days ago and ran over some metal thing on the interstate. Just wrecked our tire. Had two put on yesterday. They're expensive! The first single to Christian radio will be going for adds within a week or 2 weeks tops. We'll let you know when for sure. We finished "This Present Darkness" by Frank Peretti on CD yesterday. It was great. Kept us entertained and spiritually minded for the past week or so. Well, we have pics up from the tour. More will follow. God bless!

Friday, May 1st

We are heading to Beloit, WI tonight to play at the Overflowing Cup. We had a great concert on Wednesday night in Bridgewater, SD and saw some more family and made new friends. It's raining today in St. Paul as we're leaving. Long drive today, but we're listening to "This Present Darkness" on audio cd by Frank Perreti. It's pretty cool and Kristi has never heard it or read it before. You could be hearing the new single on the radio sometime in the next two weeks! We'll keep you updated. Love ya'll. Stay close to Jesus!

2 weeks left on this Spring tour! I am in Luverne, Minnesota visiting with friends today. Kristi and I left Rapid City at the crack of dawn this morning and bid tearful farewells to her parental units and headed out on I-90 towards MN. We are a little tired. 5 concerts in 5 days will do that to you. We had our most hectic busiest days of the tour so far last week. We played Wednesday in Custer, SD; Friday in Hot Springs, SD; Saturday in Hill City, SD; and Sunday we were in Rapid City in the morning at my wife's former home church, South Canyon Baptist. Sunday night we were at Bible Fellowship and had over 200 folks show up. Lots of Kristi's friends and family were there including some from the Oasis Singles Group who had me in last March when I originally met Kristi. A HUGE thanks to Megan and Darcie who really spread the word about the show. What a fun time. I LOVE that city. I have some of my best friends in the world in Rapid City. We are on the homeward side of the tour now as we'll be in Bridgewater,SD tomorrow night and then head to Wisconsin to play Friday night. We'll be in Minnesota on Sunday and then just one more week left! I think we're both a little ready to not live out of a suitcase again. The first single to Christian radio from the new cd is ALMOST ready. It's called "Long Live The King" and should be hitting the airwaves within the next month. I have heard early mixes of it and I am super excited for the prospects of it. Eric, my producer, did an awesome job of getting it where we needed it to be. It's an anthemic praise song that I wrote at the very last hour before we left to record in March in South Carolina. I will have it on the website soon for you to hear. Pray for our efforts in releasing it to radio. It's alot of money and the success is not guaranteed of course, but we are really excited about the prospects. God has been continuing to just blow our minds with His faithfulness on this tour. We have been so blessed by so many people. I have grown to love my in-laws more and more and if anybody makes a steak better than Jerry Friederich, I'd like to meet him or her. We just had a great time. For anyone that reads this that impacted our lives over the last 3-4 weeks we thank you very much. Literally too numerous to name. We had a blast with my aunt and uncle in Bethany, MO. First time I'd seen Wayne and Caronel in several years. Also loved hanging with Michelle, Bobbie, and Barb in Omaha, NE. We've stayed with so many wonderful people and the miracles that have occured on this tour are mind blowing. Our car has been wonderful and we are just praising God for His kindness. I got to see some snow with thunder and lightning at the same time. I saw 5 inches at kristi's parents' house in Black Hawk, SD just a couple of weeks ago. The eastern side of the state got a blizzard this past week. CRAZY!!! Well, thanks for reading and checking in with us. Hi to George and Erin, Sarah and Marie and Kristy, David and Andy and Karen and Jerry, Kevin and Emma and Megan(and Crash), Alan and Grandmas Friederich and Peck, Donnie and Tracy....thanks for making the South Dakota part of the trip awesome.(i am sure we forgot some names).

More pics will be up soon. Keep checking back.

Friday, April 18th

We are now in Missouri. We played last weekend in Nebraska in Ogallala and Mitchell. We were only 20 miles from where they filmed one of my favorite movies, "Lonesome Dove". Nebraska was very beautiful and I reconnected with some old friends at the Radiant Life Assembly of God and the Mitchell Berean Worship Center. We had a great time at both places. We are now hanging out with my aunt and uncle in Bethany, MO. Tonight we play near Kansas City at Living Water Christian Church. We're both kind of tired, but having a good time. God has been teaching us both His faithfulness and goodness. I have been reading the Word alot lately and spending much time in prayer. I am so thankful for the Lord's grace. He is so wonderful. Alot of testing and trials already on this tour, but in our weakness He is strong.....very strong. :) We play on Sunday in Nebraska again(near Omaha) and then back east in Missouri again Sunday night. We head back up to South Dakota where we will play 5 times next week alone. Pray for us! It's been great hanging with Kristi's parents and some of our friends in Rapid City and reconnecting with them. Will write more soon. love you guys. The cd is still being worked on and the probable first single is almost ready to go. It is called "Long Live The King". Can't wait for you all to hear it.

Friday, April 11th

What a first week of tour. We started last Friday night in Wilmington, OH and actually had the pleasure of playing with a band from Knoxville, TN called "Standing Small". They're a pop/rock band but they "acousticified" themselves to keep it with our style and they were great. What an awesome ministry over at joe's java in Wilmington. They minister to so many people who have been hurt by Satan and they do their best to show the love of God to alot of folks the church seems to have forgotten. Pray for their ministry. It is anointed. We then moved on to Chillicothe and had some great Mexican food with Derek (our host for the evening...THANKS DEREK!!) We played at the Rockin' Fish Cafe. Wasn't a great turnout, but we were up against the Nelons who were playing just a few blocks away at a nice downtown venue. You cannot compete against Southern Gospel music. I know that now. :) We headed over to Ashland, OH and played at the church of the Nazarene the following morning. It was great. We had a good time and went out to eat with the Pastor at Pizza Hut. He was hilarious and full of Witt. (thanks, Barry!) We then headed up to timberlake community church in Hollan, OH near Toledo. We met some awesome people there and we had a move of God at the show and I love that church. Pastor Dave let us stay with him that night and we had some wonderful hanging out time with him and his wife. We left early the next morning for Minnesota and stayed with kristi's friends, Kyle and Jessica, in Luverne, MN. They're my friends now as well! It's nice to inherit friends when you get married. They're great people and have the coolest boy (hi Conner!) and Jess is expecting their 2nd child here very soon. We spent some time in Eastern South Dakota at Kristi's grandma's farm. It's in the middle of NOWHERE and it was great. Great home cooked farm meals. I had a baby calf suck my finger and his mother try to run me over. Almost got electrified by an electric gate and just spent some time on the farm. I always thought I was a country guy, but I think I am more of a city fellow. I loved being on the farm. They won't read this but it was great. We've spent the rest of the week at kristi's parents house in Rapid City and it snowed yesterday and today and there was 3-5 inches of the white stuff. kristi and I made a snowman and also made snow angels today. We had a snowball fight too. She won. I am not familiar with snow. :) Well, that's about it. We have pics up from some of the tour now and more additions to the schedule. Check them out. More to come later!!! Jesus is King and He is faithful. We've found that out already this week. Love you guys.

Thursday, April 3rd

Kristi and I leave early tomorrow morning for Wilmington, OH to play tomorrow night. We are really excited about leaving for this tour. It's hard to believe that at this time next week, we'll be at her parents in Rapid City! Please pray for our safety and for God to use us in mighty ways on this tour. We'll be doing at least 18 concerts and probably more like 20 or 21 in 5 weeks, so we have a great opportunity to meet alot of new people and share the gospel with many! The new cd is still being worked on. Eric, my producer, is mixing it next week and the coming weeks and I still hope to have a new cd out by late May/June or something like that. I heard just a very rough mix of one of the tunes and Kristi's violin was so beautifully haunting. Her violin is on 3 of the songs and it's just great. Well, ya'll be good, and remember that Jesus loves you muchly. :) We'll be sure to keep this site updated every few days with news and pics from the road!"

March 28th, 2008

Well, my sister, Sarah, gets married tomorrow. We are going this afternoon for the rehearsal and obligatory rehearsal dinner. She is so excited. I have been hanging out with her future husband over the past couple of days. Will Troutman, of the Troutman family of South Carolina will be her main squeeze for life starting tomorrow. They're getting married in dowtown Richmond and we have friends and family coming in from all over this weekend. We are leaving next Friday for the beginning of a very busy Spring tour that will take us to 6 states and will last for over a month. We'll be in Ohio for the first weekend playing at Joe's Java in Wilmington at 7PM on Friday night and then at the Rockin' Fish Cafe in Chillicothe on Saturday night. Check out the tour schedule to see where all we'll be playing. Kristi will get to see her family in South Dakota this April while on tour, so that's exciting stuff too. We'll be sure to post pictures, VIDEO, and updates while on the road. Pray for our safety and anointing. More later.....oh! the cd is still being worked on. Should be out hopefully by May or June. Will keep you updated on that too.

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

The recording for the new cd is going well. We're off again for Columbia, SC next week to hopefully finish up the vocals and acoustics and....yes...some violin. Many of you have been asking about that. Kristi will be adding her precious Alexander(name of her violin) to at least 2 songs and will be doing some backing vocals on at least 2-4 songs as well. The name of the cd is probably going to be "Breaking Through". It's going to have 11 new songs including the 2 you've had the opportunity of hearing on this website over the past few months. They are "You Will Be" and "I Love You Too". As well, 2 songs we've been doing live recently are going to be on the new record. "Taste and See" and "All Praise" will make the new cd. We are praying about the possibility of releasing a single to Christian radio this Spring. It'll be the first single as a "solo" artist and the first without the "Belief" name. Pray for us to choose the right one and for God to show exactly what He wants to be done. We're headed up to Maryloand and Pennsylvania this weekend before heading down to SC next Monday. Alot of travel with high gas prices. :) Pray for our safety, please. I am excited about bringing this new music to you and alot of you are excited as well. That's awesome. Praise the Lord. Keep checking back for more updates."

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

Big news on the horizon folks. Alot of you know that I've been writing songs and preparing to do a new record and I was just waiting for the doors to be opened to do that. They have opened and I'll be headed down next week to the great state of South Carolina to begin work on my BRAND NEW CD!! We are so excited and are looking for a release time somewhere in the May/June range. God has been so faithful in supplying the necessary funds through constant touring and we will be doing 9 new songs in the coming weeks. I play in Chincoteague, VA this Sunday morning at Christ UMC. One of my favorite churches and places to play btw.... I can't wait for them to meet my wife, Kristi. Then Sunday night we'll be headed up to Maryland to play at Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene. Monday we leave for Columbia where I'll be at least the next 2 weeks in production. I could have a brand new single out to Christian radio in April! God's hand has been on this and all over things and He opened these doors and we're just walking through them. Married life is great, and the crowds have been very enthusiastic over Kristi's contributions in the concerts. She plays on several songs and gives them a very Celtic/Irish folky feel. It's awesome. Check out the calendar page for a list of upcoming concerts.

So sorry again for taking so long to write! It has been a CRAZY month and a half since we last updated this little site and my link to all of you on the world wide web. How is everyone??? I am married now! I got married to the absolute sweetest, kindest, most beautiful girl in the world last Saturday on the 12th in lovely Rapid City, South Dakota. Rapid City is quickly becoming one of my most favorite cities ever. Kristi Friederich is now Kristi Burton and we are back in Virginia after a few days down in frigid Myrtle Beach. I did my first concert of the new year and my first since becoming a husband this past Sunday night in Chesterfield out at Woods UMC. What a great time we had. As you may or may not know, Kristi plays violin and is going to be touring with me and supporting me with her presence (it can get pretty lonely on the road) and will be playing on several songs in concert with me as well. It gives the acoustic based singer/songwriter vibe a whole new sound reminiscent of Nickel Creek meets Dave Matthews Band meets Shane and Shane or something like that. It's pretty cool. We had a great concert and heard from so many nice people how much they enjoyed it. From the harmony to the instruments it just worked. We are really excited about taking this newness out on the road! We have a BUNCH of concerts lined up this Spring. Just check out the concerts page and then check out the pictures page because we finally have some new ones up! Sorry for the delay on that. Check back on a regular basis as we hope to keep this site updated with new pics and information as much as possible! BTW ... EVERYONE in Central Virginia is invited to the concert we're doing this Sunday night out at Matoaca Christian Fellowship in Matoaca, VA on River Road. They have a building now and I have yet to play there since they moved into it. This is the church that gave me my start really in ministry! They've been there since the beginning and I am super stoked about playing on Sunday and letting them meet my wife and just seeing alot of folks I haven't seen in awhile. Please join us at 7PM for the concert out there!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone....belated of course. So an early Merry Christmas to everyone early. What a busy time of year. Along with all of the hustle and bustle of the holidays that we all experience, I have been busy booking for next year and working a part time job through the holidays and getting ready to get married of course next month. I literally cannot believe I am about to get married! 29 years old and with so much that God has brought me through I have been given the gift of a Godly woman to stand with me through the trials of life. I mean GODLY. What a blessing. She has shaped me and helped transform me even to a greater likeness of our Father. Invitations went out the other day. We've been getting some replies back. That's been pretty cool. The wedding is in Rapid City, SD so most of my folks won't be able to attend. Still expecting a rather large turnout in excess of 300 people. Literally the week after the wedding we'll be doing our first concert of the new year. We'll be back at Harrowgate Baptist Church or Harrowgate Christian Fellowship I think it is called now. I am really excited about coming back there. We have a rather full schedule for early next year. Kristi will be traveling with me and playing and singing with me in concert so it will be a new venture for me and all of you. I am really excited about you guys hearing her and meeting her. I know you'll love her. I have been writing alot of new music. I am waiting for the King to provide the avenue and finances to do a new cd. Alot of you have been asking and that's all I can say. I am excited about these new songs and really feel like God has some great things in store. Keep praying. Love you all and will keep this thing updated as much as I can.

The Newsboys concert up at the Pentagon went well. Igot to sing for about 10 minutes as the pictures ofthe victims of the 9/11 tragedy at the Pentagon scrolled across the screen in a very sobering moment. There were readings from the Bible and the book of the Muslim faith and then the Newsboys sang a couple of worship songs(really rocked them out) during the actual service. Brian Birdwell spoke. He was massively burned on 9/11 but has since had major surgeries and is ministering to other burn victims as part of a ministry now. I was able to perform for about 10-15 minutes before the Newsboys came out and did a 45 minutes concert after the actual memorial service. I sang "In Him" and "All For Me" from my "Aroma of Sound" cd and they did a ton of their hits including "Shine", "Breakfast", "Free", and "Everywhere We Go". I have never been the most diehard Newsboys fan, but they were truly excellent and did a wonderful job of communicating the gospel and really were a great band and fun to watch play up close in that smaller auditorium. Getting in to the Pentagon itself took over an hour because of the security and going into the wrong entrances. I am surprised I didn't find myself in jail overnight in DC for some of the attempts I made to enter at the incorrect places! It was major security of course and then it started to rain and I was still outside and so by the time I actually got in to the Penragon I was soaked with rain and it was about 90 degrees so I was pretty warm as well. All in all it was great though. Alan Pomaville, who used to pastor down here in the Central VA area, was the contact and put most of the service together and he is just a man of God who loves Jesus and is totally sold out. I was blessed to be a part of the event and it was more of a celebration of life, God's faithfulness in trying times, and a praise service than it was a mourning event. God is good. I am playing this Sunday night up in Fredericksburg, VA at Chancellor Baptist Church for anyone that wants to come out. I will also be at New Hope Baptist Church this Sunday morning in Chester, VA.

I'll have some pics from the Memorial Service and concert within a few days.

Sorry for the lack of updates! It's been awhile, I know. I sent out a newsletter in early August, so for those of you who have signed up for that newsletter you did get an update from me then. I hope and pray that the King is using you in a mighty way and that He is blessing you as well. I have a few pretty huge updates for you. First off....I AM OFFICIALLY ENGAGED!!!! That's pretty big, huh? I am excited of course and will be marrying the love of my life on January 12th, 2008. I can't believe that in less than 5 months I will be married! I met Miss Kristi Friederich while on tour in March. It was totally a God inspired event. I had a cancellation from a church in Nebraska and the Rapid City Christian Singles Group in South Dakota asked me to come in and play the date the church in Nebraska canceled on. Kristi was/is one of the leaders of that group and she said she felt that before I ever got there that I was going to meet my future wife in Rapid City, but she had no clue or thoughts that it was her! God has just worked so many things out and even though the long distance thing has been difficult, we have fallen in love and the Lord has confirmed to us that He brought her to me and me to her and that He has ordained this whole relationship. I talked to her dad last week while out in SD and then asked her to marry me the day before I left and she said yes and it's just awesome. Kristi and I will move back to Virginia in January after the wedding and....are you ready for this...? Kristi plays violin and sings and we have already done 2 concerts together. The violin just adds some awesome sound to the guitar and vocally we mix well and it's just going to be a blessing to have her on the road with me and it's an answer to prayer. I don't know what the future holds and what He is going to call us to do, but I am so blessed to have a Godly woman who loves Jesus more than she loves me. God is so good and I just can't thank Him enough for this blessing. We both said from the beginning that we want to be able to serve Jesus better and glorify Him more as a couple than as single people, and He has confirmed that. Praise the Lord!

For those that don't know yet....I am blessed with the opportunity to take part in the 9/11 memorial service at the Pentagon in less than a month in DC. I will be opening the service with some music and then after the service I will be opening for The Newsboys as they do a concert. The Lord totally opened this door and I am excited to be able to share in this event. It is a "multifaith" service so pray for me to be bold, and for the Lord to minister to people in that place and that He will touch lives in a mighty way!

I was able to play at Lexington Foursquare Church a few weeks ago. It's one of my favorite churches to play in and then I was able to go back to Cave Spring Baptist Church in Roanoke and had an awesome time and then I was at Kristi's church in Rapid City, SD on the 12th. It was a great concert and we had lots of folks come out from previous concerts there and the church really supported it. It was tremendous. I have a few weeks of no shows, but am working alot in the office on booking for the fall and into next year. Later!

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007

Happy 4th of July! I hope everyone will think about your freedoms today and more than thanking Him that we're in America.....let's thank Him for the freedom we have found in Christ Jesus, huh? Praise the King! I do thank God, however, that I can worship and live for Him without much persecution and violence around me. I don't know how much longer that might be the case, but for now, we are free to do that. I am thankful for it. How is everyone??? I am doing well and just wanted to update this site with some new info. I only have 2-3 "Rest" cd's left at the most. I've had several inquiries and they're almost all gone. I am so humbled that so many people were blessed by that record. Thank you all. I played last weekend at New Hope Baptist Church down in Appomattox, Va on Sunday night and then on Sunday morning I was in Richmond at Grace Fellowship Church. It was wonderful. I had been there a couple of times before with Sarah and they have such sweet kind people. New Hope it was my 2nd time to and other than a drenching thunderstorm had a worshipful time there as well. This weekend I will be heading down to Norfolk to play at South Norfolk Baptist Church. Sarah and I have been there multiple times and I am excited to be heading back there to do a full concert on Sunday night and a couple of songs in their AM service. I am planning a short fall tour as well this year out to the Midwest again. Will let you know about that as it becomes more concrete. The Aroma of Sound has been out now since last September I have alot of newer songs that I am excited about recording and getting out to you. Stay in the Word and I hope to
see many of you very soon!

Wednesday, June 6th, 2007

Sorry for the delay in getting the news out to you all. With the tour over, I had about a 2 week time of just absolute rest. I couldn't start it immediately because the very next weekend after I got home I headed out for Maryland to play up in Lexington Park at Good Samaritan Lutheran Church where I did my very first songwriting seminar/class. It was fun, and I had a great time doing some music the following morning for the worship services. What an awesome church and great leadership. I was privileged to go out to Western Maryland that evening to play at a church whose Worship Leader is a friend of mine from down here in Richmond. A great time other than the fact that it snowed like crazy that night and travel to Virginia was sketchy at best for the first 25 miles of travel home. Snow in the middle of April! Wisconsin---ok, but Maryland! Anyways....had several unfortunate cancellations in the coming weeks, but I did get to head back to Vinton BC in Roanoke and Immanuel BC in Newport News where I have been several times before. It was a busy month in several ways and now here it's June already. I will be at MT. PLEASANT BAPTIST CHURCH this weekend on Saturday night at 6PM for a concert so those of you in the surrounding area, please come out for a great time of worship and music. Hopefully it'll be great! I will also be in Petersburg on Sunday morning and then down near the coast on Sunday night. I've been writing tons and have several new songs I am excited about sharing and hopefully recording. For those of you who are interested.....I do have 5-10 "REST" cd's I have found in storage if anyone would like to purchase them. I have 10 on hold for one person, but I do have a couple more. We've been out of stock/sold out of those for quite awhile, so let me know via email if you're interested. That's it for now.....God bless!

Friday, April 13th, 1:45PM

"The tour is done and I have been home for about a week now. What a treat to be home! I didn't necessarily miss Virginia, but I really missed my family and friends and the comfortability of my normal surroundings. I had a wonderful time out on the road for the Spring tour I just did. Not really much like Spring, though. It was really cold most of the time on the road. Get this....I am freezing cold most of the time I am gone and the very day I slide back into Virginia, it gets extremely chilly here. Highs in the 40's and it snowed here on Easter!!!!! What a welcome home. lol....I play this weekend up in Maryland at a new church I've never been to before in Lexington Park on Sunday morning and then I'll head over to the western side of the state for a concert at Pleasant View Baptist Church for the evening. I was there with Sarah several years ago. My good friend Mark Weeks from Open Door Baptist in Richmond is there now as music director/worship leader. I am looking forward to seeing him again. To be honest, though, I am not looking forward to getting in the car tomorrow to get up there. I need a long extended break from traveling. My schedule is not crazy in April/May, but I still have to do a fair share of driving. Not complaining, though. I was off last weekend and didn't even go to church. I just did nothing. I have a couple of opportunities to be at my home church coming up in April and May so that will be nice. I saw a neat movie the other day called "The Prestige" with Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman. It was set in England and involved magic and illusions and was quite interesting. Pretty clean too. I saw Napoleon Dynamite on Comedy Central the other day. I just watched like 10 minutes of it, but it was enough to just crack me up! You'll be proud of me, guys! I bought a couple of Christian music cd's and actually liked them. I have been very honest about my dislike for most of what constitutes "pop Christian music" over the last few years. However, I bought the new cd from a brand new artist named John Waller. He was the lead singer for a band called "According to John" several years ago. I liked them too. The cd is pretty typical pop/rock, but I actually liked it. Good lyrics and production. I also got the new release from a guy named Jason Gray. It's called "All The Lovely Losers". It is being released on Centricity Records out of Washington State. It's moody pop with a hint of folk.He is from Minnesota and a heck of a nice guy and has tremendous talent and heart. He toured with Sara Groves and we've talked a couple of times. I am really happy for him that a label has finally decided to sign him. He's done this like me...independent for several years. Driving himself from gig to gig and using what God gave him to minister to whoever showed up. Go get that cd....at Lifeway and Family it's really cheap right now. How's that for an update!?"

Saturday, March 31st 2:45PM

"Well, the tour is ALMOST over. I am in Alexandria, MN at my website designer's church/house. I arrived last night after a 2 hour drive from St. Paul. Alexandria is about 2 hours Northwest of St. Paul/Minneapolis. It's a BEAUTIFUL place but unfortunately for me and the fine people here it's about 37 degrees today and raining hard. I mean hard! I am at Keith's Northern Heart Media Offices in downtown Alexandria working on some web issues and helping Keith change lightbulbs and just hanging out. What a long and tiring but at the same time lovely tour this has been. The highlight so far was being in Rapid City, South Dakota last week. I LOVE that town and the people and the surrounding areas of the Black Hills and Badlands. Just beatiful country and I just fell in love with the area. Lisa, one of the coordinators of the singles groups, set everything up and I owe her a debt of gratitude. I got to play at Bethel Assembly of God for their Sunday morning service last weekend and then on Saturday night I did a concert for the Rapid City area Christian singles groups. We had a great turnout and I got to hang out with the younger singles group on Friday night and we watched a movie and had a great time. Thanks, guys, for treating me so kind and welcoming me to your city. I also got to play down in Hot Springs near Mount Rushmore the previous Wednesday and met a wonderful new Pastor named Matt Schulaw from the Hot Springs Wesleyan Church. What another fine group of believers. We had a great concert even though I had driven about 10 hours that day to get there and was absolutely wiped out. Whew. The crowd and the grace of God kept me going that night. I am so near the end of the tour now. I play tomorrow at Evangelical Covenant Church of Alexandria. I will help lead some worship tomorrow morning and then do a concert tomorrow night at the church. It's a pretty large one and Sarah and I were there back in '02 when we did our Fall tour then. Keith and his family have been treating me great and this afternoon I think we're going to do some recording in his home studio and tonight maybe go bowling! Monday I will leave for Nashville probably where I'll spend a day or two catching up with some people and then I should be back in Virginia by Thursday or Friday. I actually have next weekend off and I'll get to go to my home church for Easter!!!!! I miss you guys at CCF. Thanks to everyone for the prayers. I have been kept safe while on the road. Praise the Lord for that."

"Well, the tour's first weekend is done and the next begins tomorrow as I play at the Overflowing Cup in Beloit, WI.I played there back in '02 with Sarah. Show begins at 8PM and then from there it's on to Sheboygan, Plymouth, and Port Edwards, WI. I played at the Calvary Chapel in Appleton, WI last Sunday and had a wonderful time there. It's cold here. It was 11 degrees the other night. Don't forget to check out the pics on the photos page. There should be some up finally from the tour. I am a little tired of the snow, though. It'll melt soon. It's supposed to be all the way up to 38 degrees here soon. Shorts weather. Later.....oh, check out the new journal entry."

"The tour has begun and I am in West Bend, WI right now. I played on Wednesday night at Winona Evangelical Friends Church in Winona, OH. The concert went well, and it was a cold rainy night. Now it's a cold snowy day here in Wisconsin. I play tonight for the Lighthouse Ministries Concert Series. Folks like Sara Groves, Geoff Moore, Jason Gray and others have played here. I am opening up for Katie Nelson and her band. I am stoked about that. They're cool people and their music is like Sara Groves meets Jennifer Knapp. Pure sonic tastiness. Check out the photo page in the next day or two and we'll have some pics up for you from the tour. There's a new journal entry as well. Please check it out."

"Well, only a week a 2 days before the Spring tour is scheduled to begin in Winona, OH. Please be in prayer for me as it will be a huge undertaking to do this solo. I'll be in at least 14-15 cities in about a month or so everywhere from Ohio to South Dakota, so it will be an adventure to say the least. I know I've been a slacker at getting the newsletter out to everyone and it's been a few months since a new one was sent out, but I've got a new program and we should be back on track for that soon. I got to play last night for the good people up at Webber Church in Chester, VA. A close to home concert for me. It's always so good to be there. This was my 4th time there I believe, but first without Sarah. Had a great time! Well, I'll be posting pictures of stops on the tour as I travel, so be on the lookout. God bless....."

"Today I slept really late. Not many of you would be too surprised by that revelation. Of course, I actually had a good reason. I went to see the UVA and Gonzaga game last night up in Charlottesville. My dad and I went and had a great time. Virginia won handily. They actually hit 18 three pointers and routed the Gonzaga team that beat UVA last year out in Spokane, Washington. We got to see the new John Paul Jones Coliseum where the basketball teams play. It was beautiful. Charlottesville is a great city. Very confusing, though, to drive in. It's relatively small and quaint, but for some reason it's very easy to get lost there. I've played there a few times and always enjoyed my time. Only about 3 days until the vacation is over. My marathon of shows begins this weekend. For all of you in the Central Virginia area.....I'll be doing a concert at Harrowgate Baptist Church at 11AM on Sunday. The concert schedule has said Chester Baptist for weeks. Sorry for the confusion. It was due to me. Come on out for a great time. I'll be up in Fredericksburg that night for a concert. Check the concerts page for the whole list. Later.....

"Merry Be-lated Christmas to you out there! It's a grand time to be alive and I am enjoying being with the family right now. I have been off for a few weeks from traveling and really enjoyed it. I haven't played for several weeks and basically have been writing and hope to be debuting a few new tunes after the first of the year. I hope everyone had a good Christmas. It just doesn't seem like Christmas anymore. Every Christmas is just a little less Christmas like. Anyone else feel that way? Aside from a commercial on tv about Christmas every 3 seconds it just hasn't seemed like Christmas. Maybe as you grow up things like this happen. I don't know. I don't think I like it. I love Christmas and Thanksgiving and the holidays and so next year I plan to recapture the feeling. Join me? Anybody seen the show "The Office"? It's my favorite new show on tv. The songs should be up to listen to very soon. I've gotten a few emails and all I can say is they are coming shortly. I've got a TON of shows coming after thew New Year, so check the concerts page for all that jazz. Again, Happy Holidays to you and yours. Thanks for checking in."
